Dermot is the Managing Director of Star Technical Solutions, the consultancy arm of Star Refrigeration. Star Technical Solutions provide refrigeration and heat pump consultancy services to the commercial and industrial refrigeration sectors. His work includes advising end users with the phase out of HFC refrigerants, safety compliance, energy surveys, heating and cooling feasibility studies, tender specifications, Expert Witness and carries out Technical Due Diligence on insulated envelopes and refrigeration systems.

Dermot’s early years started with installing, commissioning and maintaining industrial refrigeration systems. He has led a team for over 10 years in the design of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems. In 2010, he joined Star Technical Solutions and in 2018 became the Managing Director.

Dermot contributes to industry; he is a Director of the Cold Chain Federation and is on the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Refrigeration.
