Head of Sustainability,
Martin Fahey is Head of Sustainability for Mitsubishi Electric where he heads the Green Gateway initiative. He has spent all of his working life in the air conditioning, refrigeration and heating industries in a variety of sales and engineering roles for companies prior to joining Mitsubishi Electric. The Green Gateway Initiative emerged from strategic planning undertaken by the senior management team of the Mitsubishi Electric’s highly successful Living Environmental Systems Division, which is a market leader in air conditioning, ventilation, heating and control systems. The team realised that there would be an increasing focus on the way we all use energy in the built environment because of environmental, political and financial demands. The aim of the Green Gateway Initiative is therefore to highlight how we can all effectively and efficiently meet the cultural and legislative requirements for our internal environments in the most sustainable ways possible. Martin has been instrumental in promoting the Green Gateway philosophy which aims to focus attention on how all involved in the built environment can ‘do the right thing’ and deliver sustainable and comfortable modern buildings.
