Catarina is a Senior Research Fellow at London South Bank University (LSBU) with 18 years’ experience working on funded research projects in the areas of refrigeration, district heating and cooling. She is the project director for Transport, Industrial and Commercial Refrigeration (TICR), a consortium project funded by the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero. TICR is investigating GHG emissions from refrigeration and developing benchmarks, roadmaps and industry resources. Catarina was the Project Manager for GreenSCIES an InnovateUK funded project on a smart local energy system that combines low carbon heat, power and transport. She is a fellow of the UK Institute of Refrigeration and a member of commission C2 – Biology and food technology from the International Institute of Refrigeration.
